Sterling A. Spainhour is a mediator and arbitrator based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He specializes in complex banking, financial, technology, business, and commercial disputes.
Spainhour is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and is a certified mediator for the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Committee. He is also a Commercial Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, specializing in technology and commercial contract matters.

Prior to joining Sapronov & Associates, Sterling served as Special Counsel for Bank of America Corporation in Charlotte, NC. He has also served as Deputy General Counsel of Wells Fargo Corporation, where he was a part of the Management Team of the Legal Department. At Wells Fargo, he also led the practice group responsible for all corporate issues relative to global offshoring and outsourcing, intellectual property, commercial contracts, technology, and telecommunications.
In addition, Spainhour has pursued an academic career and served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he taught Advanced Contract Drafting and Banking and Financial Institutions Law. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Spainhour has been a presenter at several Practicing Law Institute Seminars and other national and state continuing legal education seminars.
