Why I Choose to Mediate

Ms. Buck became one of Polk County’s first family mediators in 1989 when she developed an award-winning family mediation department within the Polk County Clerk of Court’s office. Initially offering mediation services for child visitation conflicts, the program gradually expanded under Ms. Buck’s direction into mediation of all issues in both divorce and paternity cases.

Helping parties solve their own issues is both extremely rewarding and most effective Ms. Buck believes. Allowing parties to restructure their families, and resolve financial matters without Court involvement saves time, money and dignity.

Ms. Buck has twenty-six years of experience in mediating family law cases in addition to employee disputes and probate matters. Ms. Buck has repeatedly witnessed firsthand the power mediation affords the parties, allowing them to move forward with their lives.

Biography

Ms. Buck attended Emory University through an early admissions program before she left high school. From there she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Georgia. Later in her career she returned to Rollins College where she earned a Master’s Degree. She trained for her certifications at the Conflict Resolution Collaborative at the University of South Florida where she now serves as an assistant trainer.

Her background includes teaching all ages from preschool to adjunct professor at Florida Southern College and the University of South Florida. She has also worked in the Florida Juvenile Justice System with families whose children were charged with delinquent behavior.

Ms. Buck retired as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Director for the Tenth Judicial Circuit in April 2015, having mediated more than 10,000 family cases over the years.

Local Rates - Central Florida (Family Law Only) 2hr Min.
2 Party Case: $125 per party; per hour
3 Party Case: $125 per party; per hour
4 Party Case: $125 per party; per hour
5+ Party Case: Flat Rate Available Upon Request
Mediation Admin Fees
Central Florida Mediation Admin Fee - $95 per party

MEDIATION CANCELLATION POLICY

Mediations cancelled within 10 days of the mediation will be charged a cancellation fee of $500. However, mediations cancelled, rescheduled or settled within 24 hours of the mediation will be charged 4 hrs. of the Neutral's hourly rate (2 hours for half-day mediations) . Cancellation fees shall be sent to the cancelling party unless otherwise agreed to by the parties.
