Cardina Johnson
Cardina Johnson is an accomplished attorney and mediator with extensive experience in labor and employment law, insurance defense, and dispute resolution. She currently serves as Deputy General Counsel for the Illinois Education Association, where she oversees legal matters and provides guidance on complex labor issues.
Previously, she held leadership roles within the Illinois Education Association Staff Organization, including Professional Staff Grievance Committee Chair and Chair of the Internal Disciplinary Hearing Board. Cardina’s legal career began as a labor and employment attorney in a small law firm, followed by serving as in-house counsel for a police department. She later practiced at a large law firm specializing in insurance defense.
From 2016 to 2023, the Missouri Supreme Court appointed Cardina to the Missouri Bar Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel Committee, where she served two consecutive four-year terms. She is also a seasoned educator, frequently serving as faculty for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs and seminars for organizations such as the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri Bar Plan, and U.S. Arbitration & Mediation.
