Cathy Hampton
Cathy Hampton brings over 30 years of successful experience in transactional, corporate, regulatory, and litigation matters to her work as a mediator and arbitrator. She mediates and arbitrates cases involving sports, entertainment, business/commercial, insurance, personal injury, and other issues.
Cathy is a partner in the Entertainment and Sports and Corporate practice groups at Greenspoon Marder LLP. (Read more about her joining Greenspon Marder here.) She offers a dynamic blend of transactional, corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, and litigation expertise, ensuring her clients’ needs are met with precision and insight. As a former public and private sector chief legal officer, she specializes in high-value mergers and acquisitions, finance, high-stakes disputes, and conflict resolution.
After three decades in public and private practice, she launched her own firm with a thriving roster of elite NBA, NFL, SEC, ACC, MEAC, and PAC12 athletes. As a founding partner in the sports, entertainment and hospitality space, Cathy executed major transactions across multiple industries, including sports sponsorships, the consolidation of a global bank conglomerate, the sale of an international hospitality brand, a construction merger, and the sale of multiple retail assets. She guided a national construction company through an eight-figure acquisition, assessing and managing risk, while helping navigate corresponding changes to headcount. She also led the nine-figure dissolution of a Fortune 1000 company as its chief legal officer, integrating legal, risk management, and human resources functions.
Cathy has secured over $100 million total in brand partnerships with leading companies, including Apple, AT&T, CVS, Hulu, French’s Mustard, McDonald’s, Mercedes-Benz, Netflix, NIKE, Panini, and PUMA, among dozens of others. As Atlanta city attorney, she spearheaded the historic growth of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including the 20-year extension of the Delta Air Lines lease, and secured financing for Mercedes-Benz Stadium and refinancing for State Farm Arena.
Cathy also volunteers with the State Bar of Georgia’s Fee Arbitration Program to help resolve fee-related contract disputes.
