John Grimm

Judge John W. Grimm is a highly experienced mediator and attorney with a distinguished legal career spanning civil litigation, mediation, and judicial service. A member of The Limbaugh Firm in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, since 2003, Judge Grimm focuses on civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving employment, commercial disputes, construction, insurance coverage and defense, and personal injury.

Certified as a mediator by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and qualified as a mediator in Missouri state courts, Judge Grimm mediates approximately 25–30 cases per year. His mediation practice is informed by his deep legal expertise and years of judicial experience.

From 1993 to 2003, Judge Grimm served as a Circuit Judge for the 32nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri, presiding over cases in Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, and Perry counties. Appointed by Governor Mel Carnahan to fill a vacancy, he was later elected and re-elected without opposition. During his tenure, he presided over hundreds of jury and non-jury trials, gaining a reputation for fairness and thoroughness. He resigned in 2003 to return to private practice.

Earlier in his career, Judge Grimm served as a law clerk for the Hon. Stephen N. Limbaugh, Sr., U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, where he gained valuable insight into federal litigation.

Mediation Rates
2 Party Case: $250 per party; per hour
3 Party Case: $200 per party; per hour
4 Party Case: $175 per party; per hour
5+ Party Case: Flat Rate Available Upon Request

Travel time and expenses, including meals and lodging, billed separately and split equally among the parties at the Neutral's hourly rate.

Mediation Admin Fees
St. Louis Mediation Admin Fee - $250 per party

MEDIATION CANCELLATION POLICY

Mediations cancelled within 10 days of the mediation will be charged a cancellation fee of $500. However, mediations cancelled, rescheduled or settled within 24 hours of the mediation will be charged 4 hrs. of the Neutral's hourly rate . Cancellation fees shall be sent to the cancelling party unless otherwise agreed to by the parties.
