Ketan Soni
Ketan Soni is a mediator, arbitrator, and the co-founding partner of Soni Brendle, PLLC, a Charlotte – based law firm focused on divorce and business litigation.
With a passion for combining mathematical precision with legal strategy, Ketan tackles complex and high – value cases where detailed analysis makes all the difference. He frequently serves as a mediator and arbitrator for fellow attorneys who recognize the value of avoiding the unpredictability of the court system. True to his collaborative spirit, Ketan creates and shares spreadsheets, charts, and analytical tools with other attorneys and the public, believing that better resources make for better legal outcomes for everyone.
Ketan’s dedication to his field has earned him recognition as past chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section, a NC Business Legal Elite category winner in 2022 for Family Law, a top 25 “Super Lawyer” in Charolotte, a top 100 “Super Lawyer” in North Carolina, and appointment as a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commissioner.
Born in North Carolina but raised in the Chicago suburbs (where being a Cubs fan provided the only relief from bitter winters), Ketan gave the Midwest one last chance by attending the University of Illinois, Champaign – Urbana, before returning to the welcoming warmth of the Carolinas for law school at Wake Forest University.
After nearly two decades of working for others, Ketan launched Soni Brendle, PLLC, finally giving him the freedom to indulge his love of creating every conceivable spreadsheet – including one that tracks how many spreadsheets he’s actually made. Since 2000, he has represented clients throughout Charlotte, Raleigh, and surrounding areas in divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, child custody, child support, domestic violence cases, and appeals, always approaching each situation with a comprehensive “big picture” perspective. Witnessing the toll that court battles took on families, Ketan became a North Carolina DRC Certified Family Financial and Superior Court Mediator in 2011 and opened a mediation practice dedicated to helping couples resolve their differences outside the courtroom. He also developed a 40 – hour mediation training course approved by the Dispute Resolution Commission of North Carolina.
Beyond his practice, Ketan regularly conducts free public seminars on divorce and has appeared on Charlotte local news programs. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and two children, and when he’s not working, you’ll find him exploring the latest technology, spending quality time with his family, or planning his next adventure to experience different cultures around the world.
