Larry Mims

Judge Mims served as Judge Of the State Court Of Tift County from August 2000 until December 2014. As state court judge, he presided over misdemeanor criminal cases and general and complex civil cases. During this time, Judge Mims also presided by appointment in Superior Court handling all matters involving temporary protective orders. From 1989 until July 2000, he served as Solicitor of the State Court of Tift County, prosecuting misdemeanor cases. He formerly ran a private law practice from 1980-2000 focusing on criminal law, family law, civil rights litigation, personal injury, and bankruptcy. Judge Mims was appointed as a senior judge by Governor Brian Kemp in March 2022.

Currently, he serves as a Senior Judge and as a mediator and arbitrator specializing in cases involving personal injury, premises liability, domestic relations, trust, estates and probate and commercial contracts. He joined Miles Mediation in March 2023 after having run his own private mediation practice for the past nine years. Judge Mims has been active in the State Bar Of Georgia, the Tifton Bar Association and the Council Of State Court Judges. He currently serves on the Boards of the Tiftarea YMCA, the Tift County Chapter Of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Tifton Housing Authority.
