Mark Johnson
Mark D. Johnson is a mediator who handles business/commercial, environmental, medical malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, product liability, and professional liability cases, among others.
Mark has been a member of the Litigation Practice Group of Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford & Martin, P.C.since 1994 and also practices with the Governmental Affairs and Real Estate Practice Groups. He previously practiced with King & Spalding on the Products Liability and Toxic Tort Team. Mark has also been actively involved in governmental affairs, assisting clients with matters involving local and state government officials.
Mark is licensed to practice law in Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in international business, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia and received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. Following law school, he clerked for Judge Dudley H. Bowen Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
Johnson is a member of St. Simons Wesley United Methodist Church, where he has served on the Administrative Board and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. He is a past member of the boards of directors of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, the Glynn County United Way, and the University of Georgia National Alumni Association. He currently serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Magnolia Manor.
Johnson is married to Virginia “Ginny” Ray of Americus. He has two sons and two daughters. He is an instrument flight rules-rated private pilot and enjoys golf and snow skiing.
