Matt Hollingsworth
Matt Hollingsworth is a mediator and attorney with experience in complex civil disputes, including automotive, commercial vehicle, animal attacks, insurance, medical malpractice, and premises liability matters.” His approach as a neutral at Miles Mediation & Arbitration draws on his trial-tested experience and his understanding of how plaintiffs’ lawyers and insurance defense teams evaluate cases. He brings an advocate’s perspective to the conference room, recognizes the leverage on each side, and works to help parties craft resolutions efficiently and professionally.
Matt is also the founder and lead trial attorney of Hollingsworth Injury Law, representing individuals injured by the negligence of others across Georgia and Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law and serve as a neutral in both states. Prior to starting his own law firm, Matt worked with premier Atlanta law firms, representing plaintiffs and defendants, including businesses and insurance companies. That background gives him insight into defense evaluation processes, coverage considerations, and risk tolerance, and allows him to approach mediation with credibility and balance.
A graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a Bachelor’s Degree in economics, Matt earned his Juris Doctor from Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law in 2013. Before launching his firm, he gained experience representing both plaintiffs and large national insurance defendants, a dual perspective that gives him insight into how insurers evaluate and manage claims.
Matt handles a wide range of personal injury and insurance matters, including automobile and trucking collisions, catastrophic injury cases, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability, slip-and-fall, dog-bite, and coverage disputes. He has led first-chair jury and bench trials and is skilled in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation and discovery to motion practice, settlement, mediation, and trial.
Beyond his work, Matt maintains an active commitment to public service and professional involvement. He has served as a judge in the National Moot Court Competition, worked on pro bono matters through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, mentored business students at the University of Georgia, and participated in Habitat for Humanity projects in Pennsylvania and Georgia. He holds memberships in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the board of governors of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, a lifetime appointment.
Based primarily in Atlanta, Matt also resides part-time in Pennsylvania. A native of Gwinnett County, Georgia, he is an avid University of Georgia football fan and car enthusiast and values time with family and friends. He and his wife, Michelle, share their home with their dogs, Stella and Goose.
