Neutral Rates
For purposes of arbitrator rates, unless otherwise mandated by law or applicable legal provisions, hourly and daily hearing rates shall be uniform across all our locations. Hourly rates include conferences, documentation review, order/award drafting, and any additional consultation that a party to the arbitration requests or the arbitrator deems necessary.
Commencement and Administrative Fee
At the commencement of arbitration, each party will be invoiced $1500.00. The commencement and administrative fee shall not be refundable once the procedural order has been issued by the Arbitrator. However, if parties cancel the arbitration before the procedural order is issued, $1000 of the commencement and administrative fee shall be refunded to each party.
Cancellation Policy
If a single-day Arbitration Hearing scheduled on the merits of the case cancels or reschedules within 15 business days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 4 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate. However, if the single-day Arbitration Hearing cancels or reschedules within 2 business days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 8 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate.
If a multi-day Arbitration Hearing scheduled on the merits of the case cancels or reschedules within 28 business days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 4 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate for each day reserved for the hearing. However, if the multi-day Arbitration Hearing cancels or reschedules within 7 business days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 8 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate for each day reserved for the hearing.
Special Arbitration Proceedings

The total costs of the proceedings encompass administrative fee and Arbitrators’ fee. Since expedited and emergency arbitrations are expected to conclude within one day, if the hearing exceeds the given time frame, Miles shall charge each party a minimum of 4hrs additional time at the arbitrator’s hourly rate.
Expedited and Emergency Arbitration Cancellation Policy
If an Expedited/Emergency Arbitration Hearing scheduled on the merits of the case cancels after the preliminary conference, the expedited/emergency arbitration fee is refundable minus (i) the commencement and administrative fee of $250 per party; and (ii) the time that the Arbitrator has incurred for document review and the preliminary conference to be billed at the Arbitrator’s hourly rate.
However, if an Expedited/Emergency Arbitration Hearing scheduled on the merits of the case cancels within 3 business days of the hearing, the expedited/emergency arbitration fee is refundable minus (i) the commencement and administrative fee of $250 per party; (ii) the time that the Arbitrator has incurred for document review and the preliminary conference; and (iii) 4 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate.
