Hon. Jason Harper Presents at 22nd Annual EEOC Training Conference

Mediator/Arbitrator & Special Master Hon. Jason Harper recently served as a presenter at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) 22nd annual Examining Conflicts in Employment Laws (EXCEL) Training Conference. The conference took place at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. 

 

The conference rotates around the country, and Atlanta served as the host city this year. There were approximately 750 attendees, including alternative dispute resolution (ADR) specialists, attorneys, EEO professionals, and human resource (HR) managers and supervisors in the private sector, state and local government, and federal agencies. The conference presented the latest developments in harassment and discrimination prevention, workplace civility, workplace accountability, ADR, barrier analysis, medical marijuana in the workplace, opioids, managing tricky HR and reasonable accommodation issues, settlement strategies, social media in the workplace, and workplace inclusion.

 

Harper presented a session titled “Times are Changing,”  then moderated a one hour panel consisting of Robin Frazer Clark, the 50th President of the State Bar of Georgia and past president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA); Barrett Broussard, incoming president of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia; and Carl Brown, retired Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
