Miles’ Neutrals Present at the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution 2025 Spring Conference

Miles Mediation & Arbitration is proud to sponsor the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution 2025 Spring Conference, taking place April 25-26 in Chicago. As one of the leading national gatherings for dispute resolution professionals, the conference brings together mediators, arbitrators, attorneys, educators, and advocates for two days of engaging programming, timely discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.

On April 25, Miles’ neutrals, Felicia Harris Hoss and Robert D. Litz, will join an expert panel for the session, “Arbitration of Commercial Disputes: Advocacy and Drafting Strategies” from 4:30–5:30 pm. This session, part of the conference’s Spotlight Livestream Series, brings together experienced arbitration practitioners and neutrals to discuss the nuances of arbitrating complex commercial disputes. Panelists will explore effective arbitration clause drafting, best practices for preparation from the preliminary hearing through the final award, and current trends in arbitration advocacy. Attendees will gain practical tips for navigating procedural challenges and protecting arbitration awards in a constantly evolving legal environment.

On April 26 at 12:00 pm, Felicia Harris Hoss will also speak on the panel, “Role of the ABA DR Section in Developing ADR Policy.” This informative session will examine the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s longstanding role in shaping national ADR policy through the House of Delegates. Panelists will highlight recent policy efforts — including those led by the Early Dispute Resolution and Ombuds Committees — and share strategies for proposing and advancing new initiatives. The discussion will also touch on implementation efforts for the Diverse Neutrals Resolution and the importance of inclusion and representation in ADR.

Later on April 26, Miles’ mediator, Eric Frisch, will moderate, “Success for Your Next Healthcare Mediation” at 3:00 pm, leading a panel focused on overcoming the unique challenges presented in healthcare-related disputes. Drawing on real-world experiences from both plaintiff’s and defense attorneys, this session will cover strategies for engaging parties more effectively, breaking through impasse, and crafting settlement agreements that reflect the complexities of healthcare law. Attendees will leave with tools and insights to enhance their practice in this highly specialized area of mediation.

Also attending the event from Miles are Parag Shah, chief executive officer; Meredith Stockman, chief operating officer; Todd Drucker, chief revenue officer; Leah Wilson, business development manager; and Kelly K. James, content manager.
