Employee Spotlight: Kason Martin

Kason MartinKey Work Trait: Storytelling

Kason Martin brings years of experience in customer service, accounting, and quality assurance to his role as an accounting specialist at Miles. His dedication to perfection is evident as he expertly handles payments, invoices, and client interactions. Additionally, Kason is a notary public.

Kason utilizes his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Clayton State University in his role at Miles. “I wanted to discover more about myself, understand finance, and learn about business in general,” he says. “When I started onboarding at Miles, I knew this was the place I wanted to be.”

A typical day for Kason includes checking emails for urgent matters and sending dozens of invoices to clients. “Generally, I send 30 to 50 invoices a day,” he explains. This process involves ensuring invoice accuracy, sending them to the appropriate recipients, and addressing any special requests from neutrals. Kason also handles collections and assists clients with payment issues, such as overpayments or duplicate payments.

“Getting in touch with clients about missing payments or payment issues involves a lot of communication,” says Kason. “Clients sometimes need a better understanding of the services provided. We do everything in our power to help them figure out what they need.”

The goal is to provide exceptional client service throughout every mediation and arbitration process. “If clients have a good experience with Miles, they’ll be more inclined to return in the future,” says Kason. “Our team excels at addressing client questions and supporting them throughout the process.”

Outside of work, Kason stays active and engaged with various interests. He holds a black belt in karate and has recently taken up boxing, which he enjoys. He is also passionate about art and graphic design and is working towards certification in Lean Six Sigma. Additionally, Kason aspires to obtain his CPA license in the future. “I try to grow and learn something new every day,” he says.

Kason’s approach to work and life is encapsulated in his favorite quote from Winston Churchill: “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”
